I had so much fun with Sick, I thought I'd do another Silverstein poem this week. I saw it last week while I was searching for Sick and, you'll have to agree, it's perfect for a writer. Everyone tells you that getting published is like winning the lottery, as far as odds of success goes. (Also that you can't win if you don't play.) Planning a
career as an author? Fugedaboutit. But what if that's what I REALLY want? Plenty of bestselling authors started out as nobodies and look at them now! It can happen. If it was impossible, no one would do it.
Listen to the MUSTN'TS
by Shel Silverstein
Listen to the MUSTN'TS, child,
Listen to the DON'TS
Listen to the SHOULDN'TS
The IMPOSSIBLES, the WON'TS
Listen to the NEVER HAVES
Then listen close to me--
Anything can happen, child,
ANYTHING can be.
So what impossible things do YOU have on your to-do list?
